The Chameleon is an automated, blotless, high-speed vitrification instrument. The Chameleon uses self-wicking grids and an onboard camera to allow real-time feedback on ice thickness. It has in-line glow discharge, temperature control over cryogens, and allows dispense-to-plunge times as fast as 54 msec!
Applications
The chameleon is recommended for sample vitrification to improve:
- Sample denaturation at the air-water interface
- Sample orientation bias
- Optimization of sample vitrification conditions in real time
- Grid damage from user handling
