Safety is a priority at MIT.nano, requiring a partnership between staff, faculty, and users to maintain a high caliber of safety in our research laboratories. MIT.nano laboratories are operated in a manner that reduces risk, but it would be impossible to completely eliminate hazards and risk from the research environment.
Therefore, it is critical for the MIT.nano research community to build a safety mindset and learn the necessary skills for identifying and understanding hazards, assessing risk, and integrating safety-focused decision-making throughout the experimental process. Our goals are to facilitate the conduct of safe research in MIT.nano laboratories and development of safety leaders at the Institute.
It is crucial that all MIT.nano researchers strictly adhere to the user policies for the safety of people, projects, and tools.
